Tasting: Raúl Pérez is considered one of the icon winemakers of Spain’s northwest, learning from one of the pioneers of the resurgence of Bierzo (as well as, and more famously, Priorat) Álvaro Palacios, Raúl’s name is now synonymous with Bierzo. From the La Vizcaína range, each wine is named after the single vineyard from which the fruit originates. El Rapolao shows its individuality through expressive red fruit spiced herb notes and distinctive minerality. The tannins are perfectly in balance and contribute to a structural yet velvety texture and length that refuses to go away!
