El Jorco Vino de Familia Garnacha 2017

Tasting: Viñedos del Jorco is a project out of Cebreros in the Sierra de Gredos, a mountain range to the west and northwest of Madrid, becoming renowned for its ethereal expressions of Garnacha. Involved in this project of four friends Nacho, Flequi, and César, is legendary winemaker of the northwest, Raúl Pérez. The Vino de Familia is one of the wines at the pinnacle of their stable, the fruit comes from a dry-grown vineyard, organically managed, and the vines average over 100 years old. Concentrated but with supreme elegance, powerfully fragrant aromas of mountain strawberries and herbs with a light bodied palate of pronounced red berry fruit, confected raspberry, wild strawberries, and just picked red cherries. A very serious yet extraordinarily delicate wine at once.
