El Berrakin Jaén Blanca 2021

Tasting: From Sierra de Gredos natural wine maestro Daniel V. Ramos, a self-described ‘Span-Aussie’ (born in Australia to Spanish parents, then grew up in Madrid). El Berrakin is made from a grape variety more widely used for distillation. Daniel builds texture into the wine with 17 days of skin contact. An exceptionally interesting wine showing green apple and grapefruit skin, with green tea tannins and fresh salinity. Daniel’s vineyards are organically tended, his wines are made with a minimal intervention philosophy, small levels of sulphur used at bottling only, and his wines are also bottled un-fined and unfiltered.
