Joan begun Vins del Tros in 2009 with friend Josep Arrufat, they were joined in 2012 by Xavier Orobitg.
Farming five plots of mostly garnacha tinta and blanca over D.O. Terra Alta’s trademark panal soils, their objective is to make wine that represents the distinctive characteristics of D.O. Terra Alta. They also make wine from the areas indigenous morenillo grape, which they are helping to re-establish after its acceptance into the D.O. in 2019.
Vins del Tros are advocates of amphora winemaking, with a number of wines fermented and matured in these traditional clay vessels.
