La del Terreno Monastrell 2018

Tasting: Julia Casado is a strong voice for artisan Monastrell in Spain. She makes organically grown low or no sulphur wines in D.O. Bullas, southeast Spain – where interestingly 80% of the appellation is certified organic. Working from her ‘modular’ winery (a converted shipping container) she produces this Monastrell from old plots of bush vines, organically grown from local producers. It is lower medium bodied, plush blackcurrants, loganberries, damson and soft rounded tannins with a very distinct herbaceous edge.
