Tasting: D.O. Vino de Pago is a single site appellation, awarded to estates of exceptional, consistent excellence. Now in the hands of different owners, when this vintage was produced Vino de Pago Arínzano was owned and operated by legends of Navarra, Bodegas Chivite. Even with 17 years of age, there is remarkable power in this wine, the nose has explosive black fruit, spice and incense, the palate, beautifully complex, is like a warm hug as it envelopes the senses, supple, bouncy hedgerow fruits, preserved mulberries, spiced black plum, aromatic herbs and a finish that just goes and goes…..
