Mallorca is not just about the beaches
The Supernova Rosat is made with 100% Manto Negro.
It has a vibrant pale salmon colour, shows a nose of red berries, blossom and fragrant herbs with a lip smacking palate of fresh acidity and fresh summer berries. Using organic viticulture and minimal additions in the winery Tomeu’s wines are the true essence of Mallorca.
Tomeu Llabres has had the goal with Ca’n Verdura, from the outset to revive the island’s indigenous varieties moll (also known as prensal blanc), mantonegro and callet which have been losing ground to foreign grapes such as cabernet sauvignon and merlot.
Launching their first wine in 2011 from manto negro, just 700 bottles were produced. They opened their own operation in an old garage in 2012, the production - still extremely small - was expanded with their first white, and then further expanded with this rose in 2013.
Released under the Mallorcan appellation of D.O. Binissalem, which lies in the centre of the island, northeast of Palma, across a plateau of rolling hills.
